One of my goals for this year was to try something new, so when A Better Florist invited me to their first flower arrangement classes, I couldn’t say no.

Founded in January 2015, A Better Florist is an online flower delivery service that has recently expanded to flower and bouquet arrangement classes, run by their team of in-house florists.

Classes are held in intimate sizes at A Better Florist’s cosy office near Clarke Quay’s office, with demonstrations at regular intervals so participants won’t get too lost. As a first timer, I found it quite easy to follow, with the instructor giving out a few helpful hints here and there. If you find yourself needing more flowers for your arrangement, just shout out and you’ll get what you need.

You don’t have to follow the directions to a T, as some of the more green fingered participants even got adventurous in experimenting with their own arrangements!

Prices vary according to the type of arrangement and flowers needed, and we got a box to take ours back – I did wish we had a bag, though, as it was admittedly difficult to be holding on to a heavy box on the long ride home. Still, pretty happy with a new, beautiful centrepiece made by yours truly!
