With year-end festivities in full swing, what better way to toast to an epic decade, than at Chimi’s? The sister outlet to Chimichanga, Chimi’s is an alfresco-style Mexican cantina situated in the heart of Singapore’s CBD, at One Marina Boulevard.
Mention the words “Chinese restaurant”, and the first images (and aromas) that come to mind are your typical family-style Cantonese and Teochew dishes. Same same, but different. The Famous Kitchen on far-flung Sembawang Road sets itself apart by serving up wholesome, traditional Nanyang cuisine, inspired by owner Jeffrey Foo’s travels around China.

Situated along Duxton Road, two-months-old Monte Risaia represents a journey in more ways than one. For one, it is helmed by Head Chef Taizo Yamada, who moved to Singapore in 2019 for his first culinary experience outside Japan. For another, the restaurant is an homage to Chef Taizo’s background in Japanese-Italian cuisine, with a menu that executes Japanese cuisine with Italian flair, omakase style.

Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you would have heard by now of KFC Singapore’s Fried Chicken Skin, which caused quite the stir when it was announced.
Since its limited release on 11 November, much of social media has turned to watching live updates on KFC Singapore’s Instagram for where to these elusive, popular chicken skins; it completely sold out at all 10 outlets where it’s available on Day One.
