One of my fondest memories from childhood is tucking into piping hot claypot rice for dinner after a long wait at the hawker center. He Ping Claypot Rice is a family-run restaurant that’s been in the business for over 40 years. Located along Sims Avenue, within a 10 minutes’ walk from Ajunied MRT Station, this open-air establishment serves up traditional family fare at affordable prices.

When in Bangkok: Phed Mark @ Sukhumvit Road – Pad Kaprao Eatery by Celebrity Food Blogger Mark Weins

If the name Phed Mark rings a bell for you, that’s because this street food eatery is owned by Mark Wiens, a well-known food vlogger who has coincidentally covered much of Bangkok’s food scene on his channel. 

Opened with a group of friends and fellow foodies, including Iron Chef Champion, Chef Gigg, Phed Mark specialises in pad krapow, one of Thailand’s most recognisable street foods.
