Orchard Central has become something of a haven for cafe hoppers, with several specialty coffee places popping up nearby to each other. The latest name to set up shop in this part of Somerset is Equate Coffee, a local cafe that made waves for house-blend coffee served in a minimalist industrial setting.

The Somerset outpost is its second one and features two eye-catching trees set upside down. Something about the cafe’s theme being upside down but hey, we’ll take it! While it’s a pity customers can’t sit around this centerpiece, it does create the illusion of dining in a cozy forest setting.

Try Equate Coffee’s delicate bakes, which include trendy croffles and cube croissants. The Strawberry Vanilla Croffle ($10.90++) is one such item perfect for indulging your sweet tooth, and you can even find a grape flavour if you’re craving something more refreshing.

While Equate Coffee still draws a healthy-sized crowd one year in, they’re certainly not resting on their laurels. You can also check out their seasonal collaborations with other local food brands, such as the recent 1-year anniversary colalb with Bishoku which launched a lineup of Asian-styled dishes. And of course, not forgetting the ubiquitous sando.

Ordering is a simple affair, with online payment available, and the service is prompt. I recommend checking them out if you’re in town.
