6 Places to Enjoy a Breathtaking View of the HSBC Rain Vortex @ Jewel Changi Airport – Get Your Wide Angle Cameras Ready!

Jewel Changi Airport is shaping up to be the new pride and joy of Singapore (go east side!). Unsurprisingly, the center of attention at this mega retail meets dining attraction is the 40-metre HSBC Rain Vortex, the world’s  tallest indoor waterfall!

Thanks to the circular layout of waterfall and its surrounding fixtures, there are many different spots you can view this spectacular architectural feat – each with different perspectives.

1. Shiseido Forest Valley

One of the first scenes you’ll come across is the the breathtaking Shiseido Forest Valley, which spans the circumference of the Rain Vortex. Start your ascend through lush greenery from the ground level, or the second level if you’re arriving via one of the link bridges from Terminals 2 and 3. The viewing decks closest to the elevators can get quite busy, so be prepared to jostle a little with the oncoming crowd. This route also yields one of the best views of the Rain Vortex.

2. Canopy Park

Opened to the public during the Jewel preview, this relaxing trail will re-open on 10 June with ticketed access. Located on the top most level of Jewel, the Canopy Park offers you a closer view at how water is pumped in at a speed of 10,000 gallons per minute.

3. Next to Tiger Street Lab

Alternatively, you can grab a cold one – and a seat at the bar at Tiger Street Lab to enjoy a relatively unblocked view of Jewel’s centerpiece. There is also a cozy viewing deck not too far away from this “indoor” beer garden.

4. Ground Level

What better way to marvel at the sheer size of the Rain Vortex than approaching it from the ground level? Here is where you can feel the subtle touches of mist, especially around the splash zone. Close your eyes and imagine you are in a serene rainforest!

5. Basement Two

Wondering where all that water goes to? Look no further than basement two, where you can get even closer to that water action. If you are into taking silhouette self portraits, this is the spot for it. Head into the neighbouring food hall when you’re done!

6. Viewing Decks

Feeling overwhelmed by the crowds at the Shiseido Forest Valley? Take a breather and head for one of the viewing decks scattered around Jewel.

Come nightfall, the Rain Vortex will transform into a canvas for a captivating light and sound show that runs hourly from 8.30pm – 12.30am.

Jewel Changi Airport is a truly beautiful building, and the HSBC Rain Vortex and surrounding flora add a serene touch to the environment. With so many photo spots around, it won’t be long before we start seeing OOTD themed posts on our feeds!
