Miska Cafe @ Quayside Isle, Sentosa Cove – Mediterranean-Style Cuisine by the Quay

For cafe-hoppers who are adverse to crowd, the Quayside Isle area on Sentosa Cove is an idyllic spot to escape to for the afternoon. At Miska Cafe, diners can enjoy generous table space and far-reaching views of private boats and yachts docked in the water, awaiting their next adventure.

The menu at this Mediterranean-style cafe is expansive; yet prices are reasonable for its location. Expect to sample exotic selections of hummus and falafels alongside regular brunch items such as toast and pasta. There’s even a Ladies section of the menu, with healthier options for those counting their calories.

For starters, the Green Pea Falafel ($13) is a vibrantly coloured dish that will certainly attract diners’ attention when it’s brought to your table. The falafel balls are garnished generously with tomato salsa, along with a brush of beetroot tahini puree, making for an unusual, yet tasty snack for local palates.

The Sweet Potato Fries ($10) and Truffle Fries ($10) are equally aromatic and tempting, though pretty ordinary for cafe fare. I much prefer the Fried Chicken Wings ($13), served with Miska Cafe’s house spicy sauce!

The Greek Salad ($18), with its mixed salad of cucumber, cherry tomato, capsium, onion, feta cheese, Kalamata olives, and oregano, was a refreshing addition to our table of carbs and meats, although it was nothing to write home about.

For mains, indulge in a communal-style Rocket Pizza ($23), topped with mozzarella, rocket, and grated parmesan. Or put your fork-twirling skills to the test on some Mediterranean Olive Pasta ($20)!

Miska Cafe’s prowess lies in its meat and seafood based dishes. The Roasted Half Chicken ($25) boasts a hearty, marinated half chicken served atop sweet potato fries and house salad. The meat is deliciously moist, and goes well with the accompanying sauces.

For diehard Aquarians like myself, the Baked Seashell Bag ($25) and Seafood Grill ($44) are heaven-sent dishes full of fresh seafood.
