This character needs no introduction; she’s the world’s most famous kitty, and she’s spun an industry worth gazillions of billions of dollars loved by fans young and old alike. That’s right, I’m talking about Hello Kitty, the mouthless feline star who has taken over City Square Mall with the latest Hello Kitty Celebrations (more on that later).
Young ones and grownups who are young at heart are in for a treat this March school holiday. Spend a minimum of $50 and get your paws on a Meet & Greet Pass to take a picture with Hello Kitty and Dear Daniel (see below!). In addition, every $50 spent gets you and three family members a potential golden ticket to a 7D6N trip to Japan, with a visit to Sanrio Puroland, the mecca of all things kawaii (limited to 20 entries per shopper per day regardless of amount spent).
On top of that, City Square Mall is also rewarding shoppers with a $5 City Square shopping voucher for every $200 spent ($250 if inclusive of NTUC FairPrice receipts). So hey, how’s that for participating in Singapore’s favourite pastime? 😛
School holidays are all about one on one time with the loved ones, as well as getting your fix of your favourite cartoons, so why not pop by Hello Kitty’s Celebration Live on Stage? Here are some pictures of Kitty and co.’s performance:
Starring Hello Kitty (lady of the hour) with Dear Daniel and My Melody, the 15 minute show was led by a lively lady who twirled and danced her way through a trio of songs. A couple of follow-me segments later, and Kitty’s kiddy audience soon became a flurry of movement and cheers for their favourite cartoon character.
Though lacking in storyline, Hello Kitty’s Celebration was dynamic and entertaining nonetheless, judging by the relentless cheering that came from the crowd; a welcome respite from the endless trudging and browsing through the shops, some might say. 😀
Don’t be in a hurry to leave after, though, there’s still a range of activities and promotions, including the Meet & Greet, Toys’R’Us Hello Kitty Fair (both at L1 Atrium) and last but not least, Flea for Good at B1 Fountain Square.
And fret not about parking fees; City Square offers free weekday lunchtime parking for the first 1.5 hours between 12pm – 2pm (except for Public Holidays), as well as a $3 parking coupon with a minimum spending of $60 on weekdays. 😉
Show times for Hello Kitty’s Celebration Live on Stage:
Tuesday to Friday: at 2pm and 7pm
Saturday and Sunday: at 1pm, 4pm and 7pm
