Hokkaido Harvests by Triple Three @ Mandarin Orchard; Dine Till 21 October For a Chance to Win a Staycation (Invite)

From now till 21 October 2018, diners at Mandarin Orchard‘s Japanese inspired international buffet restaurant, Triple Three will get to savour a bountiful feast of the freshest seafood, produce, and more from none other than every seafood lover’s mecca: Hokkaido.

Aptly named Hokkaido Harvests, Triple Three’s autumnal offerings will be scattered across the restaurants many stations, where diners will be taken on a journey of gastronomic discovery as they zip back and forth picking up delicious seasonal goodies, marked with a distinct label among Triple Three’s regular dishes.

Hokkaido Harvest’s emphasis is on seafood – lots of it. Aside from the usual suspects of chirashi and sashimi (made to order for maximum freshness and flavour), the mouthwatering spread of seafood on ice that includes three types of crab (king crab, snow crab, and white top shell), will certainly blow you away. The carefully crafted uni truffle pasta and kani salad which were plated oh so beautifully, were my favourites. So good I went back for seconds instead of prudently saving tummy space for the other stations!

The Lobster Uniyaki, a special creation of Executive Sous Chef Sam Chin along with Triple Three’s signature Lobster Mentaiyaki, was one of the high points of our meal. Although a tad tough, the oven baked meat was delicious and succulent, and paired with the insanely generous amount of mentaiko and uni cream, made for an incredibly rich treat. Another winning dish that we squandered tummy space on with second servings but… no regrets!

The robatayaki station, where chefs grill fresh meat, vegetables, and seafood under diners’ watchful eyes, was indeed popular, with queues of eager dines forming regularly.

Of course, there’s ramen and rice bowls to fill you up. Not gonna lie, the rice bowl was pretty darn good!

For dessert, the taiyaki was a highly recommended choice that did not disappoint. I’m still licking my lips thinking about the incredibly fluffy batter and rich chocolate filling! Of course, there’s no way you can miss out the beautifully made cakes and bite sized pastries.

I’m usually overwhelmed by the sheer amount of high quality foods at buffets, and Triple Three’s Hokkaido Harvests was no exception.  Thanks for giving us a sneak peek!
