Creamery Boutique Ice Creams @ Tyrwhitt Road, Lavender – Thai Ice Cream Cafe with Exploding Lava Cookies and Quirky Ice Cream Flavours (Media)

If ever there was a prize for personifying the saying, “a couple that works together, stays together,” the honour would no doubt go to Creamery Boutique Ice Creams. Nestled amongst other cafes and watering holes along Tyrwhitt Road in Lavender, the boutique dessert cafe is actually the Singapore branch of a Thai dessert brand.

The Buffet @ M Hotel – Seafood Steamboat Buffet Dinner with Unlimited Servings of Black Garlic-Infused Collagen “Live” Prawns (Media)

There’s nothing not to love about steamboats – simple, nutritious ingredients thrown together to cook in a flavourful broth of your choice, often in the company of family and friends.

Mention the word “steamboat” to any food-loving Singaporean, and the first brands that inevitably come to mind are the likes of Haidilao and Beauty In A Pot. But in my opinion, M Hotel’s Seafood Steamboat Buffet Dinner is well on its way to becoming another worthy contender for the title of steamboat of choice in the CBD.

While Thai cuisine is commonly associated with tom yum, green curry, and other fiery dishes, few in Singapore would be able to make the connection between Thai and Chinese cuisine – specifically, Teochew cuisine. Since its opening in 2016, Soi Thai Soi Nice has blazed a trail for authentic and scrumptious Thai cuisine in Singapore’s food scene. Starting this month, both outlets in Jurong East and Sengkang will draw on the rich flavours and heritage of Bangkok’s Teochew settlers of old, to let diners savour this lesser known side of Thai cuisine.
