The universal supper dish just got a modern upgrade from Ramen Club, Tokyo’s latest viral food sensation that turns ramen into a snack. And it’s here at Orchard Central from now till 7 June!

Launched in late 2024 – with a test sale that hit 140,000 bags in one month – Ramen Club has recreated the beloved Japanese noodle into snack form using its proprietary “Melt Soup” method, which coats the noodles with a specially developed soup layer that melts at mouth temperature.

The result is an umami-laden morsel that recreates the experience of slurping up your favourite authentic tonokotsu or miso broth.

Like other ramen brands, the devil is in the details – from the vibrant, bold packaging, right down to the ingredients packaged with the noodles, such as bamboo shoots and even naruto slices. You can snag two signature flavours, Tokyo Shoyu and Sapporo Miso at $4.20 per packet or $19 for 1 box of 5 packets.

Texture-wise, it is pretty similar to murukku noodles. While on the small side, this premium snack does not hold back on flavour.

The Tokyo Shoyu is a delicate flavour that carries the aroma of dried sardines and chicken. I was immediately transported to my favourite ramen stall in Tokyo when I tasted it.

The Sapporo Miso wins my vote as the favourite, with its bold garlic and pork flavours. The miso makes it especially addictive.
