T’is the season to put aside the year’s trials and tribulations, and feast to our hearts’ content – and a Rib-Tastic Christmas at none other than Morganfield’s, Home of Sticky Bones!
Available from 12 November 2018 to 3 January 2019, Morganfield’s curated selection of mouthwatering festive meats, platters, and decadent drinks and desserts are a feast for the eyes and for the palate.
Morgan’s Christmas Feast ($149.90++; serves 4 pax) presents a bountiful plate of festive meats, sweets, and two half-slab Sticky Bones. In addition to Morganfield’s signature Hazelnut Sticky Bones, the fruit themed Cranberry Sticky Bones adds a sweet, fruity touch for diners seeking something a little more festive for the season.
Aside from Sticky Bones, diners will also indulge in a substantial selection of Crackling Pork Roast, Gammon Ham, and Sausages. Mexican Grilled Corn, Roasted Cauliflower, and Roasted Pumpkin complete this platter for four, with the classic Cornbread providing a sweet, belly-warming finish.
Personally, the Hazelnut Sticky Bones still wins; the Cranberry rendition yields a slightly rich aftertaste that is best shared with your dining companions. With this much meat going around, the Roasted Cauliflower and Mexican Grilled Corn provided a refreshing reprieve for the palate!
For diners with more substantial appetites, Morganfield’s is also whipping up a selection of festive meats to give family or office celebrations that extra oomph. Takeaway orders must be made at least 3 days in advanced for these hefty centrepieces.
Traditionalists will delight in the Roast Beef Ribeye ($189.90++; serves 4-6 pax). The flavourful meat is served medium rare with brown sauce, and expertly sliced into thin, but substantial slices for individual enjoyment.
The Orange Marmalade Glazed Whole Gammon Ham ($149.90++; serves 6-8 pax) is a 3kg (pre-cooked) behemoth slathered with delectable sticky orange marmalade glaze. A sinful savoury and sweet treat indeed.
The real pièce de résistance are the Barbeque Beef Ribs ($89.90++ for half rack, $189.90++ for whole rack). Slow cooked and finished with a glaze of Morganfield’s signature Hickory BBQ sauce, this meaty masterpiece is the very definition of the phrase “melt in your mouth. Incredibly tender and intensely flavoured, this was the clear winner at our table, and the first to be finished. Best paired with some Dijon Mustard for that extra kick!
The Crackling Pork Roast ($39.90++ for 1kg, $68.90++ for 2kg) is another sinful addition to Morganfield’s Christmas menu with crispy crackling skin, although the fat could be rendered better.
Another comparatively budget friendly option for diners is the Roast Chicken ($35.90++). Stuffed with rosemary, onions, celery, and carrots, the meat was deliciously succulent, with nary a hint of dryness!
Cranberry ham makes an appearance in the appetite whetting Cranberry Ham Salad ($15.90++), an artfully arranged plate of mesclun greens with shaved premium gammon ham. Drizzled with tangy cranberry dressing, this is the perfect salad to get bellies raring for the coming feast!
You can also refresh yourself with the thirst quenching Somersby Summer Punch ($19.90+) and Non-Alcoholic Christmas Fruit Tea ($7.90++ per glass, $18.90++ per pitcher).
Not forgetting the oh so decadent Black Forest Lava Cake ($16.90++), which puts a festive twist on Morganfield’s Chocolate Lava Cake with a chocolatey dark cherry filling. So, so, so rich and sinful, you’ll be craving seconds if your belly isn’t close to bursting from all that meat.
