Doraemon-Themed Menu @ Monster Curry (23 July – 30 September 2019) – Enjoy Special Curry Combo with Nobita’s Chronicle of the Moon Exploration Merchandise (Media)

Monster Curry is back at it with an all-new collaboration, this time with everyone’s favourite robotic cat, Doraemon! In collaboration with the beloved anime icon’s new Doraemon the Movie: Nobita’s Chronicle of the Moon Exploration, Monster Curry is whipping up a seasonal menu available at all outlets from 23 July to 30 September 2019!

Diners will be greeted with life-sized cutouts of Doraemon and co., with more plushies and cutouts adorning the restaurant’s interior. Look out for the TV screens showing reruns of the Japanese classic!

If taking pictures with the cutouts is not enough, you can even bring a piece of Doraemon home with you. From plush toys to tumblers and T-shirts, Monster Curry has the ultimate Doraemon fan covered!

The seasonal menu is also served on a specially themed paper placemat. See how many characters you can spot!

Ordering the Hokkaido Organic Potato Wedges ($11.80++) gets you a free Doraemon tumbler. The wedges are decently spiced and fluffy, and are great for working up an appetite for your curry rice feast.

Quench your thirst with a couple of sodas, whose colours and straws are designed to resemble Doraemon and his sister, Dorami. While the Blue Calpis Soda ($5.80++) yields a fizzy aftertaste from its blue Japanese yoghurt component, the Okinawa Shiquasa Soda ($5.80++), made with Okinawa lime juice with mango juice and soda, tastes much sweeter. My vote goes to the Blue Calpis Soda.

Although the Special Combo Curry ($28++) is advertised for two, we felt that its generous portions are enough for three diners.

With a rice and curry mound shaped to resemble Doraemon’s face, the bounty of fried goodies filled us up quickly. The Big Fried Fish, Jumbo Ebi, and Pork Katsu are some of the stronger elements of this dish, while the Tako Balls and Chicken Karaage could be improved in terms of texture. Nevertheless, this value for money main dish will certainly satisfy rumbling tummies!
