With the pandemic putting quite a damper on Singapore’s F&B scene over the past couple of years, it’s refreshing to encounter new spaces opening again, especially experiential concepts that combine eating and drinking with other lifestyle and entertainment options. 

Tucked away on the third level of Orchardgateway in Somerset, 82SOHO has set itself up as the place for gatherings, be it for hardcore video gamers or friends looking for a relaxed session of board games. The jungle-themed Tigress is where ravenous customers can satisfy cravings for good food and slurp-worthy drinks. 

You may not encounter actual or decorative tigers here but, you’ll undoubtedly feel like you’ve stepped into a lush tropical resort in Bali, complete with floor-to-ceiling glass windows to soak up the sun. There is also a trio of pocket pool tables and a Korean four-ball pool table if you’re feeling up to a game of pool. 

Tigress’ menu focuses on hearty, wholesome dishes that range from burgers and pizza to tapas and cocktails. Different items are available at various times of the day, so do check before you head over if you’re aiming for a particular dish.

The eponymous Tigress ($34++) is a luxurious burger that consists of Australian wagyu, parma ham, blue cheese, tomato, caramelised onion, pickles, and house sauce. Truth be told, I found this tasted rather ordinary and the cheese got a tad cloying after fighting my way through half the burger. The sides are pretty generous though, and you can choose up to two to accompany the burger. 

The Tigress ($34++)

Level up weekend brunch from 11am – 3pm on Saturdays and Sundays. The Crab & Caviar Toast ($21++) serves up seasoned jumbo crab meat with dollops of caviar and avocado puree on sourdough toast. The chili flakes help add some heat to the dish, though I felt portions could be more generous.

Tigress by 82SOHO is certainly a picturesque place for meetups and drinks. You’ll never run out of entertainment or photo-worthy spots if you visit!
