Domino’s Singapore is back with your favourite umami lineup of not one, but two mentaiko flavours! This time, with an improved recipe that has bonito flakes for that extra touch of Japanese flavour.

Update 19 Jan 2025: CinqueTerre has closed.
I love a good ol’ Italian restaurant where I can sample authentic European fare made with simple, wholesome ingredients. CinqueTerre is a newly-opened shophouse restaurant helmed by Chef Marco Ravera, who brings over 25 years of culinary experience from around the world to this humble corner of Tanjong Katong.

Boat Quay has gotten somewhat of a makeover as a foodie destination in recent years, with the addition of a few bars and eateries that helped it shed its reputation as “that place with all the overpriced seafood restaurants”.
One of these new joints is Shinya Izakaya, a Japanese bar and sister business to Georgetown Tze Char (also located at the far end of Boat Quay) and Nonbei Izakaya.

It’s not often you can use the words “Iberico pork” and “wallet-friendly” in the same sentence, so it was a pleasant surprise to discover that Gochi-So Shokudo, a casual Japanese eatery, has been serving quality dishes at affordable price points.

Since its opening in 2019, more outlets have popped up around Singapore, bringing its pork dishes to customers islandwide. Its Jewel Changi Airport is situated next to the HSBC Rain Vortex, with plenty of seats abound.
The centerpiece of any celebration – food-wise – is a picture-worthy cake and dessert table. If you’re looking for quality desserts to make your party the talk of the town, Honeypeach Bakery is the place for you. Their gourmet creations are so jaw-droppingly beautiful, it’s almost a crime to eat them!

There’s something intriguing about seeing where culinary innovations take us, especially when it comes to modernising and elevating our favourite childhood foods. It seems almost befitting that Baba Chews Bar and Eatery is situated in Katong, which many consider the heart of the beloved Peranakan cuisine.

Like its home base, Katong Square, Baba Chews Bar and Eatery’s menu has undergone a few updates, with new Peranakan fusion dishes alongside other classic European offerings.
Update 19 Jan 2025: Kai’s Handmade Mee Hoon Kueh has closed.
The best finds are often concealed in simple settings. Kai’s Handmade Mee Hoon Kueh’s nondescript setup may not stand out much from its comparatively famous neighbours at Old Airport Road Food Centre, but this newcomer nevertheless packs a world of flavour and heart in each bowl of mee hoon kueh.
