[CLOSED] Rookery @ Capital Tower, Tanjong Pagar – Sophisticated Festive Menu Till End of January 2020 (Media)

Update June 2020: Rookery’s Capital Tower outlet has closed.

As Singapore’s CBD slows to a quiet, end-of-the-year lull, office dwellers who have remained behind this holiday season can look forward to some seasonal, post-work nosh at Rookery at Capital Tower.

The sister outlet to Rookery at Hong Leong Building, Rookery at Capital Tower offers up considerably more choices for the hardworking urbanite for lunch and dinner. This Christmas season, indulge in some festive dishes that are available till end of January 2020.

Start with some mouthwatering sharing plates like the Wagyu Beef ($25++). Served atop caramelised onion puree with garlic brown butter, this delectable starter is incredibly tender and well cooked. Each bite melts in your mouth.

The Oven-Baked Brie ($17++), served with a side of toast, is another indulgent starter that can be shared among a small group. The richness of the brie is complimented by the use of honey, thyme, and almonds. Would have preferred if the brie is a touch meltier though, as it is a tad though to dip into with the toast.

Expect delectable, classic dishes from Rookery’s festive main menu, which features beef, chicken, and lamb. The Braised Beef Cheek ($30++) gets my vote as Rookery’s best festive dish – tender chunks of braised beef, flavourful, soft mashed potatoes, with just the right amount of vegetables to make for a complete Christmas meal. Saturated with flavour from the beef jus, the Braised Beef Cheek will certainly warm you from within, in more ways than one.

The Roast Chicken & Stuffing ($25++) is another worthy contender that is not to be missed.  Served with cranberry stuffing and a side of asparagus and roasted pumpkin, the roast chicken itself is delightfully tender and moist. Great contrast of colours and flavours, too! And yes, you can also get a taste of the much raved about mashed potatoes.

I was really blown away by how well the Pistachio Crusted Rack of Lamb ($35++) was executed for our dinner. Unlike most lamb dishes that have that distinct gamey taste that might put off the less adventurous, Rookery’s rack of lamb is surprisingly subtle in taste and aroma. Plus points for the winning presentation as well! Diners will enjoy this alongside the flavourful pumpkin and parsnip puree, and tabbouleh salad.

Dessert is a simple Dark Chocolate Lava Cake ($14++) that is beautifully plated with French vanilla bean gelato and mixed berry compote. Shame that the molten chocolate did not ooze as much as I expected when we sliced through it.
