Update January 2023: Sofi Cafe Pizza has moved to Scarlet Hotel.

Tanjong Pagar Conservation Area along Craig Road is home to a number of establishments and eateries, tucked away from its towering, modern-day neighbours in quaint two-storey buildings.

It’s been a long time since I last cafe-hopped in Singapore, and Sofi Cafe Pizza by Pasta Brava seemed an apt place to kick off my food ventures in 2020!

Boasting warm hues of pink and turquoise, Sofi Cafe Pizza is every bit your typical hipster hangout, complete with ceiling plants and chandeliers for an added grandiose effect. The dining space can be easily re-arranged for larger groups, and warm host is extra accommodating to customers.

The cafe’s menu is divided into All-Day Breakfast and Brunch, and Lunch and Dinner. Diners can partake in classic cafe staples, some of them with a unique twist, like the Charcoal Waffle with BBQ Pulled Pork ($16.50++).

This uniquely-coloured dish will most certainly satisfy waffle lovers in search of something a little different, and the BBQ pulled pork is well-flavoured. It’s also an easy dish to share for groups, as the waffle is neatly segmented, with equal amounts of toppings!

Speaking of groups, Sofi Cafe Pizza has plenty of shareable sides that are tastefully plated. The Crispy Ravioli ($10++ for 6 pieces) may resemble mini curry puffs, but bite into one and you’ll be greeted with flavourful bites of pumpkin or beef.

For something healthier, go for the Roasted Pumpkin, Beet, Organic Kale Salad, Raisin with Maple Lemon Dressing ($16++), a pretty and delicious way to stay on your veggie quota!

The Alaska Crab Cakes with Lobster Bisque & Mixed Fresh Rocket Salad ($25++) is a robustly flavoured dish that appeals to seafood lovers. It’s not too briny, either! Best eaten warm.

Carb seekers will be glad to know that there is no shortage of pastas and pizzas at Sofi Cafe Pizza. The Cold Pasta Capellini with Fresh Sashimi Scallop, Caviar, Truffle Oil ($28) is highly recommended for its tempting aroma and rich, umami flavours that keep you wanting more.

Pizzas are stone oven-baked by Piz Pecialis. You can’t go wrong with the deliciously spicy Pollo Pepperoncino ($24++), complete with avocado and mozzarella.

Sofi Cafe Pizza’s warm vibes and cozy atmosphere make it a great place to chill over some yummy morsels. Escape from the hustle and bustle of Singapore’s CBD area for a quiet afternoon here!
