Hot on its success in Amoy Street, Dumpling Darlings has landed its second outlet in the heart of Singapore’s CBD – Circular Road to be precise. The new corner-eatery now features a jaw-dropping mural on the side of the building, making it practically impossible to miss!

Similar to its sister outlet, Dumpling Darlings’ Circular Road hideout features nary more than a neon sign of its titular dumpling. Despite most still cooped up in our home offices, Dumpling Darlings fills up pretty quickly with customers come lunchtime on weekdays. Better swing by early if you want a spot!

Still, Dumpling Darlings isn’t one to rest on its laurels. With a new outlet comes new, exclusive flavours in the Circular Road menu. The XO Prawn Noodles ($10++ ala carte, +$4++ for lunch set) steals the show with al dente noodles topped with fried shallots,  spring onions, nori seaweed, tobiko, and prawns.

Mix them all together and you get a delightful medley of textures and flavours – from the umami notes of the XO seafood sauce and soy tare, to the succulently fresh prawns, and finally the tobiko that pops delightfully with each bite. Top up $1.50 for a perfectly cooked Hanjuku Egg, or get it free with your Lunch Set ($16++)!

On to its titular dumplings – Dumpling Darlings’ dumps still tick all the boxes of a marvellously made dumpling for me, and I’m pretty sure the new Prawn and Crab ($10++) flavour is already proving a hit among diners.

The Veggie Mandu ($8++) tastes distinctly of kimchi, with the addition of spinach, tofu, shitake and gochujang making for an overall pleasant mouthfeel. The bed of garlic aioli adding a slightly pungent dimension to ’em dumplings makes it a winner for me!

Lunch Sets comprising of noodles, dumplings, drinks, and a complementary serving of vegetables and hanjuku egg is worth the dollar for those looking to try a bit of everything. Can’t wait to have this on the regular when our office is back up and running!
