Have you ever loved a cartoon character so much you wanted to eat it? 7 Eleven has partnered with Korean messaging app, Kakao to release an ultra kyeopta Cup Jjiajang Tteokbokki ($4) featuring Kakao Friends mascot Ryan as an edible topping!
Priced at $4 a pop, the Cup Jjiajang Tteokbokki is pretty easy to prepare, and makes an ideal, fuss-free snack for those craving something chewy with a mix of savoury and sweet flavours. Each cup is packed with around 30 pieces of tteokbokki, jjiajiang seasoning, and flakes shaped after Ryan’s face and sunny side up eggs.

Kakao Friends Tteokbokki ($4)
To prepare your instant tteokbokki, empty all the ingredients into the cup, add water up to the mark, and mix thoroughly. Pop it into the microwave for 2 – 3 minutes to get that sticky, melted texture associated with the popular Korean sauce.
As most instant snacks go, this Cup Jjiajang Tteokbokki is quite tasty and easy to prepare. The sauce marries both sweet and savoury flavours, with a hint of spice to give your tastebuds a subtle kick. The bite-sized tteokbokki is a little smaller than what I’m used to at regular Korean eateries, but it gets very chewy pretty fast. So eat up while it’s hot!
Kakao’s Cup Jjiajang Tteokbokki can be found at 7-Eleven stores islandwide in Singapore, while stocks last.
