Fancy a bite after trekking around The Botanic Gardens? There’s a new all-day eatery in town where you can try various upscale dishes at wallet-friendly prices. Cluny Food Court is Le Amis’ first venture into casual dining, where new-generation hawkers can whip up high-quality foods. 

Located next to Raffles Building, Cluny Food Court comprises six stalls, each specializing in a contemporary take on traditional dishes: 

• Mui Kee Express, known for its Cantonese-style congee 
• Lai Fa Ba Express, an upscale wanton noodle specialist
• S’Mao Barbecue, serving grilled meats for lunch and dinner 
• Project Penyek by Ansar, a newcomer serving ayam penyet, satay, and seafood platters
• Piccante Pronto, a sister concept of Le Amis Group brand, Peperoni Pizzeria 
• Drinks stall with local delights

Fans of Lai Fa Ba need not venture all the way to Bukit Batok anymore. The Signature BJT (Bu Jian Tian 不见天) Charsiew Wanton Noodles ($8) features al dente noodles with wood-fired char siew and a generous amount of fried and boiled wantons. Taste-wise, I found this to be pretty average for the price, although the cuts of meat are certainly juicy.

Authentic, decent Italian fare is hard to come by at most eateries, so I was pleasantly surprised to find one by the name of Piccante Pronto. Here, diners can sample a variety of traditional and premium pizzas with a local twist, as well as baked pasta. I was not expecting the Pollo Arrabbiata ($12.50 – $48) to kick me in the ass, though, with its extra hot chili slices!

Spiciness aside, I really enjoyed the pizza’s robust flavours and crust done to perfection.

Swing by in the evening and you can get a taste of S’Mao Barbecue’s Barbecue All In Plate ($24). Available only at dinner time, this mouthwatering plate is a meat lover’s dream come true, with fall-off-the-bone tender pork ribs, honeyed pork belly, and pulled pork with a side of fries and coleslaw. There is nothing not to like about this platter, and I would totally enjoy this with a refreshing drink on the side with some friends.
