Hot Thai Grill Hotpot Buffet @ COCA Singapore – Have It Your Way with New Grill Installations (Media)

It’s an age-old debate – fiery, hot BBQ versus wholesome, comforting hot pot. But why deprive yourself of one when you can have the best of both worlds? COCA Singapore has launched its new Hot Thai Grill Hotpot Buffet (available with an $18 add-on) for you to do so!

French Fold @ Telok Ayer, Tanjong Pagar – Elegant Crepes and Galettes in CBD

French cuisine often gets a rep – for better or for worse – as food that is geared for the high class or occasions with a little frou-frou. But, that’s not to say that you can’t find French food that’s wallet-friendly, yet substantiative. French Fold is one such place where you can satisfy cravings for authentic crepes and galettes.

[MOVED] Cake Spade @ South Bridge Road, Chinatown – Fabulous Cakes in a Two-Storey Pink Shophouse

Update 19 Jan 2025: Cake Spade has moved to Keong Saik Road.

Shifting locations, especially to a bigger one, is a good sign of a business growing. And Cake Spade has certainly come a long way since its first opening at Orchid Hotel almost a decade ago. Time really flies!

The homegrown brand helmed by At-Sunrice GlobalChef Academy alumnus Zenn Ng has expanded once more to a two-level shophouse on South Bridge Road opposite Buddha Tooth Relic Temple. While no longer located within the vicinity of Tanjong Pagar, the cafe still sports its baby pink exterior and feminine interior, no doubt inspired by luxury fashion brand, Kate Spade.

Hill Street Tai Hwa Pork Noodle @ Tai Hwa Eating House, Crawford Lane – Singapore’s Best Bak Chor Mee with a Michelin Star Now Has A Takeaway Counter

If Japan has her ramen and Vietnam has her pho, then Singapore has her bak chor mee. Whether served dry with chilli and vinegar, or in a bowl of piping hot soup, bak chor mee is one of the must-try dishes if you’re in Singapore.

While bak chor mee stalls are a dime a dozen in Singapore’s rich hawker food scene, no stall has come quite close to being the most talked-about one as Hill Street Tai Hwa Pork Noodle on Crawford Lane. Not only is it the oldest bak chor mee stall in Singapore, but also it’s the cheapest one-Michelin meal.

Shinsora @ Odeon Towers, City Hall – Intimate Omakase Featuring Edomae Sushi by World Sushi Cup Champion

Shinsora has much to be proud of. Not only did it survive the worst of Covid-19 when it opened, but also its two chefs, Chef Sky Tai and Chef Leon Yap, are also World Sushi Cup Champions. Quite a mean feat considering both were born and raised outside Japan.

Today, the 10-seater omaksase restaurant continues to operate out of its Odeon Towers-based premises, with no more than a SafeEntry code hinting at its presence within Standing Sushi Bar. One might even mistake it for a private dining room with front-row seats to the sushi-making action.
