[CLOSED] Cheeky @ Neil Road, Outram Park – Cafe by Day, Craft Beer Joint by Night (Media)

Update January 2023: Cheeky has closed.

Every so often, a new entry joins Singapore’s burgeoning scene of self-proclaimed hipster cafes, bistros, and craft beer joints – so much so that it’s impossible to keep up with who’s coming and going.

Taking over the space previously held by Botanist (another cafe from my growing list of places that I never got to visit before they closed) on Neil Road is Cheeky, a cafe-by-day, craft-beer-joint-by-night establishment.

Like so many of its predecessors that have come and gone in our ever so fickle F&B landscape, Cheeky aims to break the mould by delivering “top-notch cafe fare with a twist or two”.

[CLOSED] Xing Fu Tang Singapore 幸福堂 @ Century Square, Tampines – Taiwan’s Instagram Worthy Boba with Brown Sugar & Rabbit Panna Cotta Has Landed in Singapore

Update January 2023: Xing Fu Tang has closed.

Bubble tea – or boba as they like to call it in the US – has been enjoying some kind of renaissance recently. From dingy neighbourhood joints peddling eyebrow raising flavours (Blue Coral, anyone?), to sophisticated franchises, this popular beverage has sure come a long way since its humble origins in Taiwan in the 1980s.

The latest addition to Singapore’s ever growing array of bubble tea chains is Xing Fu Tang 幸福堂. Opened one and a half years ago, this hugely popular brand has already opened close to 100 outlets in its native Taiwan, as well as Japan, Canada, and Thailand.

[CLOSED] Pasta Supremo @ Suntec City, City Hall – Handmade Fusion Pastas; 3 New Flavours Out! (Media)

Update January 2023: Pasta Supremo has closed.

Pasta is a pretty simple dish that is easy to whip up. Toss in some pasta strands, add a few of your favourite toppings, dribble with sauces and viola – your quick fix is complete. But what if you want to take this simple classic to the next level?

Pasta Supremo, the newest brainchild of the team behind The Salted Plum, is where you will find some of Singapore’s wackiest Asian fusion pasta creations. Located opposite Gudetama Cafe at Suntec City, this modern pop-up is already enjoying immense popularity among diners seeking something different.
