Burger & Lobster Singapore @ Jewel Changi Airport – London Born Brand Lands in Singapore with Exclusive Sambal Glazed Lobster

World famous Burger and Lobster has become the latest addition to Jewel Changi Airport’s star studded lineup of F&B brands. Occupying a relatively small area of Jewel’s fifth and highest level, the London born restaurant opened to much hype, with healthy sized crowds throughout lunch and dinner times on the weekends.

You would need to time your visit extremely well to score a spot with minimal waiting time, as the restaurant does not take reservations. Barely five minutes after we arrived (around 2.30pm on a Sunday), the queue exploded with several other diners staking their spot for a very late lunch or early dinner.

Dining spaces are arranged around the kitchen in a circular fashion. See if you can score one that commands arresting views of the HSBC Rain Vortex and the newly opened Canopy Bridge!

You can also spot tankfuls of live Canadian lobsters awaiting their fate on the dining table.

Speaking of live lobsters, you can pick an enormously sized lobster for sharing with Burger & Lobster’s Big Boy Lobster Catch. Half of them were already taken when we visited, so it must be a pretty popular, indulgent option with large groups.

Burger & Lobster’s Singapore menu is compact and straightforward, featuring the eponymous burgers and lobsters, along with a selection of starters, drinks, and desserts. Of course, there was no way we were walking away without trying at least one item from their two mains categories.

The Mayfair ($25++) is one of a trio of burgers that do not feature lobsters or seafood. The Nebraskan burger patty is perfectly grilled, with plenty of juices oozing from every bite. Homemade pickles, onions, tomatoes, crisp iceberg lettuce, and signature burger sauce help to complete this classic tasting burger. There’s even an Impossible™ Burger ($20++) to accommodate vegetarian diners, with a minced soya and beetroot flavoured burger patty on pumpkin brioche that sounds downright delectable.

Every main is served with a generous bucket of fries and house salad, so you do get your money’s worth. The fries retain a crisp consistency and are not overly oily. I did wish there was less Balsamic vinegar in my salad, though.

Now for the part everyone’s been waiting for – THE LOBSTERS! Don’t be fooled by the Lobster Roll’s ($40++) deceptively compact serving, as it contains chunks upon chunks of chilled lobster meat stuffed deep inside its signature toasted brioche roll. Tossed in Japanese mayo and topped with chives, every bite is a delightful surprise that reveals more and more of that chunky, fresh goodness.

The Original Lobster ($65++) is available steamed or grilled. Each 1.5 lb lobster features tender, succulent meat that goes well with clarified butter or Burger & Lobster’s famous lemon and garlic butter. Get your lobster crackers ready to pry out those nuggets of claw meat!

Exclusive to Jewel Changi Airport is a fiery Sambal Glazed Lobster ($65++), which is served steamed. I would definitely love to try this out next time.

With dishes priced lower than its Bangkok counterpart, Burger & Lobster’s first expansion into Singapore definitely gives you more than bang for your buck. If you’re looking for a bona fide lobster dining experience, look no further than this gorgeous restaurant!
