3 for $13 Haul from Lovisa

I love my rings like I love Pringles; I can’t stop at one. Okay, that wasn’t the best analogy but I needed to fit something in and I was having the hunger pangs (as usual).

Anyway, going back to my favourite accessory: there’s something alluring about how the tiniest details can add so much flair to your outfit. I think my obsession began when I started shopping at flea markets and discovered how you can pair so many cheap accessories for different looks!

So when Lovisa had their 3 for $13 sale, there was no way I could resist. I mean, I’ve always been a fan of their chunky designs and statement pieces, but I honestly don’t believe in spending a bomb on something that’s relatively smaller compared to my other accessories, and is just sitting on my finger all day long. This discount, though, means that selected pieces go for a mere third of their original price; a real steal! 😀

Hello Kitty Bubbly World-Inspired Outfits

Psssst. After taking the world by storm as classic fairytale characters and circus stars in 2013, Hello Kitty is back. And this time, she’s dressed as her friends from Sanrio in conjunction with her 40th anniversary this year.

Dubbed the Bubbly World collection, it sees the world’s most feline making her debut at McDonald’s outlets island wide, not only as other characters like Purin and Maru but – wait for it – shaped as a cute bubble:

Dressing up for a Sikh Wedding

Weddings are such exciting affairs; from the elaborate ceremonies to the vibrant displays of tradition and culture, one can say that going to one is indeed an eye opener.

And, of course, there’s the part that thrills the inner fashionista in all of us: dressing up for the Big Day!

When we found out that our gal pal from Junior College was getting married in a traditional Sikh marriage ceremony, we set out to pick our respective outfits. And, mind you, dressing up for a wedding, and a traditional one at that, is a different ball game from, say, simply putting what they call your “Sunday best”.

A part of the marriage ceremony (or Anand Karaj) takes place on temple grounds, specifically the main hall, which means we have to abide by a certain dress code i.e. loose fitting clothes which cover our shoulders and legs, and a scarf to cover our heads.

So here’s what I picked to wear for today’s feature:

Autumn Winter 2013 Collection @ New Look (OMY Blog Club)

Call me crazy, but I’ve never been big on autumn and winter.

It probably has something to do with the (slightly) traumatizing experience of my winter holidays, when I had to trudge through ankle deep snow while freezing in sub zero temperatures. Besides, how many of us actually relish the idea of looking like a penguin who’s trying to impersonate an overstuffed dumpling?

So for the majority of my life, my sunny, tank-top-filled wardrobe and the dark, heavy textiles of the chilly seasons have been pretty much incompatible. That is, until New Look rolled out three new looks (pun unintended!) for its Autumn Winter 2013 Collection.

My DIY Mortar Board

If a wedding dress is the most important thing a gal can wear in her life, the second most important thing is probably her graduation gown. And with something as significant as this, you’d better be darn sure that you get the right stuff to complete the look and help you stand out from the crowd in whatever way you want.

But since you can’t exactly deck your entire robe in bling, or heaven forbid, modify it entirely, the next best option is to personalize your mortarboard with a little decoration. It also goes a long way in helping you find it back after throwing it into the air with your peers, so really, why not? 😉

Here’s a little DIY I did with mine!

It takes a little patience and creativity, but the wannabe artist in me enjoys creating and putting little designs together! 😀
