I have been to Grain Traders twice and am already planning my next meal there. It’s that good.
Located at CapitaGreen on Market Street, the comfort food joint has been drawing the crowds since its official opening barely a week ago. It is a collaboration between KILO and Papa Palheta, which explains the mix of Western rice and salad bowls and Chye Seng Huat coffee beans.
I first visited Percolate back in late 2014; that was when hipster cafes were almost unheard of in the east, but I never got round to penning my thoughts about it. Now that it has undergone a makeover after expanding into the neighbouring space, why not come back and see how the place (and menu) has changed? 😀

There are cafes that serve great food in lacklustre setups, and there are cafes that look oh so Insta-worthy but serve sub-par dishes. AEIOU is one of those rare ones that combine both into one eclectic, delectable mix.
Taking residence in what used to be an antique store, the cafe prides itself on its simplicity and whimsicality, from its unpretentious fare to the downright quirky, re-purposed decor. Kind of like the “organized clutter” we all are so fond of seeing in our homes or office desks. 😉
If there’s one thing we can thank Singapore’s weather for, it’s the tropical cheeriness that lasts all year long. And at C-Side Sentosa, summer never ends!
Comprised of five F&B and beach bar outlets, C-Side served as the venue for our second SUGAR RUSH, as well as a new quarterly event called 3BS (more on that later). Having passed the area frequently during my university’s beach orientation games, I jumped at the chance to try their range of bar bites, cocktails and beers.

Mention Tai Seng and the image conjured is that of industrial estates and droll cafeterias; classic Western fare and all-day brunch hardly factor in this neck of the woods.
And yet, just when every upscale neighbourhood and heartland corner finds itself saturated, along comes The Commerze with its smattering of cafes and salad bars. Thanks to Sugar’s search-by-location function, I chanced upon 23 Jumpin’ and decided to check it out.

When it comes to keeping up with the explosion of cafes all over Singapore, along with its rapidly evolving food trends, I find myself craving for something classic, something that’s stayed true to its brand through the test of time. After trying their delectable offerings at Artistry, I was eager to discover more culinary creations at Windowsill’s main branch over at Jalan Besar.
Set amidst a sleepy stretch of old-school coffeeshops and hardware stores, Windowsill in the Woods sticks out with its decidedly whimsical exterior which is reminiscent of the patterns you see on Christmas cards. The place was bustling yet with a tinge of tranquility when I visited; plus points for well-spaced tables and even a cozy alcove area with floor to length windows to make you feel like you’re literally dining by a windowsill. 😉

Every now and then, I like to hop off the train on the way home just to see what new places there are that I haven’t tried yet. Hey, what’s a little de-tour to let off some steam from a hectic day at the office, aye? 😉
PARK at Holland Village is one of those cafe cum bistros that I’ve been putting off visiting, till a sudden change of plans left me free (and aimless) at dinnertime. Its prime location just a stone’s throw away from Holland Village MRT station, coupled with its relative seclusion from the busier parts of the neighbourhood, meant precious me-time to unwind and eat. Plus, there’re all those rave reviews about their truffle fries and mac & cheese so why not!
