Christmas Highlights @ Amara Hotel in Tanjong Pagar – Dine on Seasonal Classics with an Asian Spin; Festive Buffet Dates for December 2018 (Invite)

It’s that time of the year where we abandon our troubles for the moment, and turn our attention to the yuletide feasts that grace our dining tables. Standing out from the barrage of typical Christmas fixtures are Amara Hotel’s Christmas highlights, which feature Asian twists on classic seasonal dishes!

Set to whet appetites are the Tomato and Watermelon Carpaccio and Celeriac Veloutte Truffle Oil. Both appetisers featured fresh components that prepped our tastebuds for the gastronomic indulgence that was to come.

The Pan Seared Foie Gras with Cranberry Sauce was rich but not too overwhelming. The citrusy notes of the cranberry sauce did help to undercut the richness of the foie gras, which was seared perfectly.

Diners can also expect a tantalising display with the Baby Lobster Miso Yaki, which is infused with a dash of Chinese liquor before being torched to add that much needed sear to the lobster flesh and ikura. With the multitude of textures and flavours from the different components coming together, this was easily the dish of the night.

The Slow Roast Turkey with Szechuan Spicy Sauce is where Asian influences truly come into play in Amara Hotel’s Christmas menu. Beautifully plated, the succulent roast turkey takes on a feisty flare with the Szechuan spicy sauce it is doused in, giving it an extra kick which spice lovers will no doubt love.

Last but not least, the Japanese Cheese Log Cake is a somewhat unique take on the traditional log cake in the visual aspect. Unlike most log cakes which are served horizontal, Amara Hotel’s dessert chefs have knocked it out of the park with an upright log cake, almost like a tree stump, but artfully decorated!

Inside was a matcha filling that provided a sweet conclusion to our dinner.
