Artistry Cafe may have shut its doors, but its spot lives on as Earlybird, a bird-themed sister cafe to fellow cafe stalwart Revelry. Other than a subtle makeover (more on that later), it’s as if brunch never stopped being served at this cosy spot along Jalan Pinang near Bugis.
Since its takeover of the space, Earlybird’s interior has been transformed to reflect the cafe’s bird theme. A bright mural, along with yellow hued cranes, adorns the walls, while light fixtures hanging from the ceiling bring to mind a homely nest. Outside, the formerly dark-shaded benches have taken on a stark white to reflect the cafe’s bright, peppy branding.
From small bites to generously loaded pastas, toasts, and sizeable desserts, Earlybird’s menu is stocked with classic brunch treats. Revelry regulars will spot the familiar Chicken Waffles making its reappearance as Chicken & Pancakes, which is said to come in belly busting portions.
The Chilli Scramble ($18) features silky scrambled eggs with thick-cut bacon and parmesan corn on the side, along with a toasted sourdough slice. While the eggs aren’t overwhelmingly spicy, and has just a bit of kick in its aftertaste, the parmesan corn feels like two separate components. A tad underwhelming for me, but a treat on the eyes nonetheless! Don’t those shades of yellow just perk you up?

The Dirty Matcha ($6.50) is a coffee-based beverage that will appeal to those who prefer their cuppa on the acidic side. And here’s an interesting titbit for those sitting in the alfresco area – just knock on the window if you want to order some coffee or drinks!

Earlybird’s charm is not lost on me; I’m glad this spot is still around for long-time cafe hoppers to eat and chill. For those working in the vicinity, there’s a Weekday Special of exclusive dishes going for around $12!
