With more individuals turning away from traditional corporate careers to pursue their lifelong aspirations in the F&B industry, I’m always curious about the results of their kitchen experiments. I was able to check out Mon Cerise Patisserie during its month-long stint at Baker X at Orchard Gateway, a project designed to give aspiring home-based bakers a taste of managing a physical shopfront.
Mon Cerise Patisserie is an online French patisserie founded by home baker Cherry Chiu, who bid the corporate world goodbye and earned her baking chops at Le Cordon Bleu in London. The result is a range of dainty, handmade pastries that change every month!

Les Petite Tarts ($27 for 6 pieces)
The Les Petite Tarts ($4.50 for 1 piece, $27 for 6 pieces) actually caught my eye as I was perusing my social feed, in search of something to satiate my sweet tooth. Making these bite-sized tarts was no work in the park for Cherry and team, with each one consisting of at least three elements!
Apple and Yuzu, Lemon and Basil, and Coconut and Lime were some of the more refreshing creations in Mon Cerise menu, with fruit-forward flavours that brought tropical vacations long past to mind. While richer flavours like Chocolate and Golden Rocher will appeal to those seeking something more decadent for their afternoon tea.
