Update 19 Jan 2025: Le Matin Patisserie has closed. Follow their Instagram for their upcoming popups.
As a food blogger, there’s nothing I love more than seeing places I’ve reviewed grow and become more and more successful. From baked boxes to order during the 2020 Circuit Breaker to its experimental kitchen in a far-flung estate and finally, a sophisticated new home in ION Orchard, Le Matin Patisserie has certainly come a long way.

While its current outpost at ION Orchard is not its first (the first two being in Tanjong Pagar and Orchard), it does feel as though Le Matin Patisserie has finally “come home”, with a distinct brightness that permeates the cafe’s decor and atmosphere.
Visually, Le Matin’s brand comes across more strongly here. It’s certainly leveled up to a classy spot to indulge in some artisanal bakes in Singapore’s ritziest shopping district.

Crowd favourites from Le Matin Patisserie’s savoury and sweet boxes are available daily, along with some new creations catered to brunch and dessert lovers.
With brunch from 10am – 4pm from Wednesday to Sunday, and bespoke desserts served from 6pm – 9pm on the same days, diners can expect to be surprised and spoilt at various times of the day. “Simple” does not exist in Le Matin’s book, but that’s also why it’s wildly popular today!

The Fermented Mushroom Quiche ($12++) is one of the new additions to Le Matin’s menu. The French butter shortcrust pastry is flaky and crumbly, with smooth dashi custard perfectly complemented by the sharp-tasting fermented porcini mushrooms. It’s a perfect snack to indulge in if you’re looking to fill up on something without getting too full.

Regulars may recognise the Seafood Pot Pie ($25++) which is part of Le Matin’s brunch selections. This may just be my favourite pastry, ever. Packed with a variety of seafoods such as snapper, salmon belly, tiger prawns, green mussels, clams, and scallops layered with mashed potato, this dish is best described as decadence with a touch of comfort. The garlic rosti that the puff pastry is encased with, is crispy, while the trout roe adds pops of umami to the succulent seafood.

Brunch items are also served with a refreshing Salade ($8++).

The croissant amazake soft serve is a returning hit that’s available either on its own or served in a croissant or with waffles. This is one dessert that was created with sustainability in mind, as the soft serve is concocted from a combination of leftover croissants and pastry trimmings, before being fermented using the koji method.
Savour this four ways with the Amazake Soft Serve with Croissant ($12++), which interprets Le Matin’s famous croissant in its original form, as a fermented soft serve, crumbles, and a biscotti-like biscuit. The fermented flavours are distinct here and taste just like the Japanese rice wine it was inspired by. It’s one hearty dessert that’s suitable for sharing between two people.
