The Cheese Ark @ Stirling Road, Queenstown – Enjoy Rare Gourmet Cheeses in the Heartlands

It’s a quiet, languid, late afternoon at The Cheese Ark. Soft, jazzy beats permeate the cozy retail area, while aromas of different exotic cheeses mingle in the air. Rows of neatly stacked crackers, nuts, wines, and cheese knives sit on shelves waiting for the next customer to pick them up.

Never would you suspect that this humble cheese shop is tucked away deep in the heartlands – Stirling Road in Queenstown, to be exact. A windowless shopfront devoid of any signage stands out from a row of neighbourhood eateries and provision stores.

[MOVED] BUNDT by The Backyard Bakers @ Havelock II, Chinatown – Unapologetically Badass Takeaway Bakery with a Daily Changing Menu

Update 19 Jan 2025: BUNDT by The Backyard Bakers has moved. Check out their Instagram for other locations.

BUNDT by The Backyard Bakers, or Backyard Bakers as they are affectionally known to regulars, may be one of Singapore’s best kept foodie secrets.

Operating out of a takeaway kiosk at Havelock II near Chinatown, BUNDT is The Backyard Bakers’ sole physical space, following the recent closure of its GRAZE outlet in West Coast. This minimally-decorated joint is so tight (think can’t swing your ponytail; let alone your cat kind of tight), making the quality of the food they churn out on a daily basis, nothing short of a minor miracle.
