If ever there was a prize for personifying the saying, “a couple that works together, stays together,” the honour would no doubt go to Creamery Boutique Ice Creams. Nestled amongst other cafes and watering holes along Tyrwhitt Road in Lavender, the boutique dessert cafe is actually the Singapore branch of a Thai dessert brand.

Founded when a Singaporean traveller fell in love with a local Thai chef, Creamery Boutique Ice Creams’ motto is, “All because two people fell in love.” That’s right; this beloved neighbourhood stalwart would not be here had it not been for two people who took that leap of faith… for love.

Everything, from the ice creams to the much talked about lava cookies, is made in house. So delicious are these treats, that the PR agency managing Creamery Boutique has lovingly named them their “long-standing pet project”! Talk about a seal of approval.

One needn’t look very far to start noticing Creamery Boutique’s signature quirks. Eye-brow raising Ice Cream flavour include like Zombie Food and Secret Garden ($3.80 for single scoop, $6.20 for double scoop, $8.90 for triple scoop). 

While the ice creams are full of colour and flavour, it is the made-to-order lava cookies that completely steal the show, especially on social media. Pile a single scoop of ice cream ever so gently on a cookie, and watch it burst with sweet, rich fillings ranging from red velvet cream cheese to Matchaya green tea.

Each Cookie Set is priced between $7.90 – $9.90, with premium seasonal flavours going for $10.90. Pretty reasonable if you’re sharing one set with a couple of friends.
