Plant-based meat alternatives sure are going places these days. Far from their rubbery, synthetic-tasting counterparts from earlier times, today’s options come pretty close to mimicking the real deal in terms of taste and texture.
In conjunction with Hungry Planet launching in Singapore this month, Eleven Strands has teamed up with this US-based brand to launch plant-based HungryPlanet®️ Set Menu ($25) exclusively on 27 and 28 June!
Consisting of a trio of dishes, the HungryPlanet®️ Set Menu draws inspiration from Italian and Asian influences and puts a plant-based spin on them. The Hungry Planet® Italian Sausage Bolognese Spaghetti combines Eleven Strands’ signature pasta with plant-based Italian sausage to yield some authentic Italian flavours.
The Chinese Styled Baked Char Siew Puff is my favourite of the trio, encasing toothsome char siew in layers of flaky pastry.
Last but not least, the Oven Grilled Hungry Planet® Lamb Satay with Malayan Peanut Gravy will appeal to local-leaning palates with its hearty servings of plant-based lamb satay and sweet peanut gravy. I found the meat a touch more crumbly than the rest.
