It’s been a few years since I first reviewed Kittea, so I was delighted to find out that they had collaborated with a fellow homegrown brand, The Woody Baker, to create a pair of tea-infused madeleines for your teatime enjoyment.

If you know me personally, you would know that I am a fan of the Try Guys, a four-man American comedy YouTube channel that go way back to 2014. When two of the Guys’ – Zach and Keith – came together with a Hot Box of their branded hot sauces and teas, I knew the foodie in me had to give it a try!

Following my experimental stint in the kitchen during quarantine season, I was itching to try more viral recipes. Fortunately, some casual strolling through TikTok brought me a new dish to try: Baked Feta Pasta!

While 2020 saw many longtime favourites succumbing to pandemic-induced stresses, or simply calling it quits at the end of their lease, other places underwent a complete revamp. Stateland Cafe, a 6.5 year old cafe that gained attention for its innovative fusion cafe dishes, has re-emerged in Bali Lane as Brotherbird Coffeehouse.

For my birthday, my colleagues surprised me with a meal at Lerouy, a modern French restaurant that earned its coveted Michelin star in 2019. Helmed by Chef Christophe Lerouy, who himself led Alma by Juan Amador to its one-star accolade in 2016, the restaurant recently relocated from Stanley Street to its current outpost on Amoy Street.

When it comes to starting your day right, few things are as important as a good, hearty breakfast. And in a fast-paced society like ours, convenience sometimes trumps all other factors when it comes to picking our first meal of the day.
