[MOVED] Hei Kim Cafe @ Changi Road – $7-10 Eggs and Pasta in the East Feat. xHundredfold Shop & Studio

Update 19 Jan 2025: Hei Kim Cafe has moved to Far East Plaza.

In a time where 8 out of 10 cafes charge an exorbitant $20++ for a mediocre eggs on toast, Hei Kim Cafe‘s crazy affordable prices for a simple eggs or pasta dish is incredibly refreshing. Located along the cozy stretch of Changi Road, this lifestyle cafe, which also houses xHundredfold‘s shop and studio, is a pretty new addition to the cafe scene in the east.

[CLOSED] Montana @ PoMo – Waffles, Soft Serve, and Brunch Items With An Asian Twist (Invite)

Update June 2020: Montana has closed.

Montana sure has come a long way from its humble beginnings some five years ago. From a humble waffle bar, tucked away in PoMo, this stalwart in Singapore’s waffle scene, has since grown into a two-storey hideout for brunch lovers in the heart of Selegie.

Looking at the recent additions to their menu, it’s not hard to see why Montana is what it is today!

When in Bali: NOOK @ Jalan Ulamas, Seminyak – Rustic Cafe Overlooking Breathtaking Rice Paddy Fields

Any avid cafe hopper worth his or her salt will tell you Bali is the destination for your coffee and brunch fix in Southeast Asia. And having embarked on my first trip ever last month, I can see why!

Tucked away from the bustling Seminyak area, NOOK offers visitors a much needed slice of tranquility, with its laid back vibes, whitewashed interior, and sprawling views of a neighbouring rice paddy field and nary a high rise building in sight (a rare sight for a Singaporean).

For starters, titillate your taste buds with a Charcuterie Platter ($30++) – a homely combination of homemade duck rillette, foie gras terrine, chorizo, Bayonne Ham and saucisson.

The Glasshouse @ CHIJMES – Specialty Coffee and Toast Bar in a Glass Container

Visitors to the historic CHIJMES would have noticed a new addition in the vicinity – a compact glass container tucked away from the array of restaurants and bars.

The Glasshouse – not to be confused with the Fish and Co. outlet which closed last year – prides itself on serving specialty coffee and artisanal sourdough toasts. With light spilling in every corner, and the therapeutic aroma of coffee wafting through every now and then as a new cuppa was being brewed, it’s not hard to see why this cafe is on its way to becoming one of the must visit spots in town.
