Not one to rest on their laurels, LUNA on Amoy Street has been hard at work to concoct new, mouthwatering cakes. September brings two new entries to the patisserie’s menu: Rose Raspberry and Yuzu Meringue!
The Rose Raspberry ($8 per slice, $80 for whole cake) will appeal to the sweet-toothed with a love for all things rose-flavoured. Without bordering on overly saccharine, a bite of this light and sweet combination of vanilla sponge, rose Valrhona Ivoire 30% chocolate ganache, rose mousse with raspberry bits, and raspberry Chantilly cream over a raspberry puffed rice base is akin to being whisked away by a cloud made of sugar, berries, and all things nice. A must-try if you’re into bandung!
The Yuzu Meringue ($8 per slice, $80 for whole cake) is an intense flavour trip into the world of citrus. Japanese yuzu juice and yuzu curd feature prominently here, so prominently that you’ll be forgiven if you thought you were biting into an actual lemon. The intensity of the yuzu is balanced by the sweet Italian meringue, scorched till a nice golden brown.
